Maintaining your oral hygiene will dramatically reduce the need for dental work in the future.
We understand that not everyone has had a great experience with dental hygienists.
At Gentle Dental we prefer a relaxed approach and can take our time to ensure your comfort. We have the luxury of long appointments which allows us to chat, find your likes and dislikes and tailor the appointment to your needs. In these appointments you are in control. So if there's any aspect of seeing a dental hygienist that you don't personally like, we will discuss this with you and work out an alternative method, wherever possible.
A dental hygienist is in the ideal position to flag any potential issues with your teeth or gums. Early detection of issues can not only be lifesaving in the case of cancer it also usually means that any repair work can be easier and less expensive.
We also use the EMS Airflow for all of our treatments. Airflow is an incredibly gentle treatment, that quickly and painlessly removes hard to reach bacteria; maintaining gum health, without damaging any gum tissue and more importantly in a very gentle and comfortable way. No more scraping and no discomfort during treatment. Airflow heats the water so you don’t experience sensitivity while having your teeth cleaned.
If you come to see the hygienist with a concern, whether that’s bad breath, bleeding gums or any other issue, we’ll help get you back on track.
We’ll have the time to spend with you to show you how to improve your brushing or flossing technique so that you can easily maintain your oral health yourself. We'll help you build an oral hygiene routine that fits your lifestyle.
We hope that after a few visits we’ll have given you what you need to prevent future dental problems.
They are all about being of a high standard, everything is of quality and makes you feel comfortable and they are all professional and the team are very friendly. I would highly recommend.
It's crucial to treat gum disease quickly and effectively, letting it persist can cause bone or tooth loss, and it's believed to be linked to other serious health conditions.
We always check for any signs of gum disease when you visit the dental hygienist.
If you do suffer from gum disease (periodontitis) we will actively treat it to return your mouth to health.
As with all our hygiene treatments we'll help you improve your daily routine so that you can keep maintaining it effectively in between visits.
You may need to see a specialist (periodontist) and we'll be able to write a referral in instances where it will benefit you.
